World of Goo

This is a really awesome game that was originally made for the PC and then ported onto other platforms, now being also available on Android. What you do in this game basically is try to get from a point to another, but the means through which you do it is unique. Of course, it was so unique that it spawned thousands of replicas that tried to use the same system, but in the end those who have played the original know that no amount of replicas will beat the real deal. Now this game is pretty expensive, especially in comparison to other lower-cost games. Its price is near the one demanded for the PC version, but you’ll be happy to know that this game provides you with just as much content as it did for the PC version. You have all the levels, all the types of goo balls and everything you knew and loved on the PC ( assuming of course that you played it on the PC as well ). Personally I enjoyed this game a bunch and had my Android device supported it, I would have gotten it in a flash.

The game mechanic here is simple: you are given a number of goo balls at the start of the game. Each of them has a unique ability but most just connect to one-another once you put them in close proximity. The objective is to use as few as possible so that more and more goo balls could escape said level. It’s basically a sort of “Lemmings” game, only that the goo balls rarely die ( if you do your job right ).

FEATURES:

  • Beautiful graphics ( will require a strong device )
  • Addicting gameplay
  • Amusing Easter Eggs hidden in all levels
  • The “Sign Painter” always watching
  • An innovation to the 2D gaming genre, no matter the platform

DESCRIPTION:

The backstory of the little goo balls is quite unique and the way they interact to one-another is also quite an enjoyable thing to watch. A lot of work has been put into the level design, thus making it as enjoyable as possible. Along the way all sorts of new goo balls emerge, allowing you to use new abilities, coming together to form things such as electricity, beauty, conspiracy, love, discovery and the third dimension. This may sound a tad ridiculous when you hear it, but when you play the game it makes a whole lot of sense. Also, in this game in almost all levels ( if you can find it ) there are hidden messages in the form of Easter Eggs from the Sign Painter, person who is always watching and commenting upon your progress. Also, the game has a Multiplayer function. It has a sort of Free Build option in which you use the extra goo balls you’ve unlocked by completing the Bonus of each level to build a tower. the multiplayer function kicks in here as it compares your tower to those of other people on the online leaderboards.
