Samsung Galaxy: What the Future Holds

In this age of information and advanced technology, we come to rely on the internet for information more and more. Why not, after all, it is the information super-highway. However, with the many pieces of information floating around, one or two may end up false. Those we aren’t sure about, we call rumors. Some end up being fake while other end up being true. Nowadays, we like to consider certain pieces of information TRUE simply because we think it sounds about right, even though it may not be as it is. Yet, the common opinion will still not change. Fortunately, this isn’t the case with today’s spicy piece of news regarding the Galaxy series.

The Galaxy owners are used by now that their devices are receiving the updates ahead of others. Well, Android 5.0 is getting nearer and nearer with each passing second, and apparently not many phones will be able to touch it. For some, it is the end of the road, while others will continue on this magical journey at least a few steps more.

Below you can find a list showing the devices which are known to receive the Android 5.0 update and even lower there is a list with those that will stop at 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Those whose life ends at Jelly Bean are:

  • GT-I9080 – Galaxy Grand
  • GT-I9082 – Galaxy Grand DUOS
  • GT-I8160 – Galaxy Ace 2
  • GT-I8190 – Galaxy S III mini
  • GT-I8530 – Galaxy Beam
  • GT-I8730 – Galaxy Express
  • GT-I9070 – Galaxy S Advance
  • GT-I9100 – Galaxy S II
  • GT-I9105 – Galaxy S II Plus
  • GT-I9260 – Galaxy Premier
  • GT-N7000 – Galaxy Note
  • GT-S6310 – Galaxy Young
  • GT-S6312 – Galaxy Young DUOS
  • GT-S6810 – Galaxy Fame
  • GT-S7710 – Galaxy X Cover 2

Even if the 4.2.2 Jelly Bean will be the last Android update for those previously mentioned, let us not forget how old some of those phones actually are and how many previous updates they have received. Some have been around for quite some time and have prospered quite a bit from that ( heck, in the Galaxy S II’s case, this is actually the third major update ). Well, when you consider some other manufacturer’s update policy, if any even exists, you come to realize that Samsung did a tremendous job keeping their high-end devices at their peak.

Below is the list of the phones that will actually get the 5.0 update:

  • GT-I9300 – Galaxy S III
  • GT-I9305 – Galaxy S III LTE
  • GT-I9500 – Galaxy S 4
  • GT-I9505 – Galaxy S 4 LTE
  • GT-N5100 – Galaxy Note 8.0
  • GT-N5105 – Galaxy Note 8.0 LTE
  • GT-N5110 – Galaxy Note 8.0 Wi-Fi
  • GT-N7100 – Galaxy Note II
  • GT-N7105 – Galaxy Note II LTE
  • GT-N8000 – Galaxy Note 10.1
  • GT-N8005 – Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE
  • GT-N8010 – Galaxy Note 10.1 Wi-Fi

Again, this isn’t exactly OFFICIAL information, but it has been received from some relatively secure sources. We can safely assume that these devices will live on as is written here as, if you stop and think about it, it kind of makes quite a lot of sense. Still, time will tell whether or not this is true or just another rumor.
